The entire Delaware river basin was hit by two massive storms over the past 8 months.
The first storm was September 18, 2004 ( Hurricane Ivan). This storm hit Point Pleasant and
River Country hard. In fact the water level rose to within 2 feet of the top of the bridge pillars!

If that wasn't bad enough the Delaware River was hit a second time this April by 4 inches of rain within a few hours. The river height has not been exceeded since the great flood of 1955.
This time the river level rose to a level that was 3 feet ABOVE the bridge pillars.

Below are some of the amazing photos that we happened to get. Some are from an arial view of the river and others are taken from ground level (there were few dry spots to stand on).
