Current Delaware River Conditions

CURRENT WEATHER & RIVER CONDITIONS

Weather conditions can sometimes change very rapidly. So what looked like a cloudless sky early in the morning, can change into an afternoon filled with thunderstorms with lightning. So, we try to post changes regularly on this page.

Although it may not have rained at your house or even at River Country for days, we may still be experiencing high river conditions on the Delaware River. River conditions that are deeper than normal can prevent certain age groups from participating OR prevent everyone from participating.

Having fun at River Country is indeed awesome, yet we will NOT risk lives, we have certain safety guidelines that we have adapted through 57 years of experience to make sure that our most important asset (YOU), stays safe.

Although it is subjective (personal opinion) whether the river is “cold”, we insist that when you arrive at River Country, that you walk down to our beach area and feel the water with your hand or your feet, especially if you plan on tubing.

Rafting, canoeing or kayaking is a great alternative should you feel that the water is not a “good” temperature for you. We often permit changing your tubing reservation (timing and availability permitting) often for a nominal upgrade fee. Have questions? To contact us, please email us at [email protected].

REMEMBER ALL CUSTOMERS FOR ANY ACTIVITIES MUST BE A LEAST 4 YEARS OLD, ( Although 4 years old is our minimum age under average river level river level conditions, 4 years old may NOT be appropriate for some river levels. The age will be indicated on the conditions page, and updated when management  feels necessary for the safety of our customers).

RIVER LEVELS LISTED BELOW ARE LEVELS “AT POINT PLEASANT” IF HIGH RIVER LEVELS ARE INDICATED, THE “HIGHER” RIVER LEVEL IS ABOVE THE TYPICAL RIVER LEVEL (AVERAGE) AT POINT PLEASANT . THE RIVER LEVEL GENERALLY VARIES ON AVERAGE BETWEEN TWO  AND FOUR FEET DEEP,  IT IS A NATURAL BODY OF WATER WITH SOME AREAS THAT ARE DEEPER THAN OTHERS. SO, THE TERM NORMAL IS  AMBIGUOUS.

The predicted River conditions for After September 10, 2023  : Closed for the 2023 Season, contact us for special requests at the following email address: [email protected]

SINCE THE RIVER IS A NATURAL BODY OF WATER AND THEREFORE IS DYNAMIC ( CHANGING MOMENT TO MOMENT ), IT IS DIFFICULT TO PREDICT EXACT CONDITIONS. WE TRY TO BE CONSERVATIVE, WHICH MAY IMPACT YOUR RESERVATIONS OR PLANS, WE TRY TO BE CONSERVATIVE FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CUSTOMERS. AS SUCH WE MAY HAVE TO CLOSE EARLY DUE TO RIVER CONDITIONS THAT WE  CAN NOT CONTROL, OR CHANGE PERMITTED ACTIVITIES OR AGE GROUPS QUICKLY FOR SAFETY SAKE.

The river level  listed below may be predicted to be Higher than policy allows for certain age groups, Don’t worry, we do have possible solutions such as upgrading to a raft. contact us if your party has younger children that may not be permissible ( 215 ) 297.5000 or [email protected]
